Skills & Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree combined with equivalent years of experience in an IR Leadership role; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in a leading Investor Relations position with large corporate or a combination of corporate Inventor Relations and related communications experience with at least 5 years in a senior capacity required in retail industry
  • Previous sell and buy-side experience in retail company required
  • Formal coursework in advanced financial analysis, accounting practices and presentation techniques preferred

The Manager - Investor Relations works under the guidance of the Vice President - Investor Relations and Communications and will serve as a spokesperson to the investment community and the financial media. The Manager - Investor Relations will assist in the planning, development and implementation of a variety of global investor relations programs.

Specific Responsibilities

      • Develop messages and materials for investors, analysts, rating agencies and financial media, including press releases, earnings call scripts, road show presentations, executive speeches, media interviews, etc.
      • Manage investor and financial media events including earnings calls, investment conferences, one-on-one meetings and senior management interviews
      • Prepare investor meeting and financial media interview briefing materials for senior management
      • Benchmark company performance (stock price performance, operating statistics, etc.) against peer group
      • Gather and analyze information regarding major customers, markets, supply/demand dynamics and macroeconomic factors that influence company performance
      • Track and analyze securities analysts' financial models and research on the company

Position Description:
Under general direction of the Manager, Investor Relations & Corporate Communications, the Investor Relations Coordinator performs various financial and other news and data analyses in support of the Investor Relations and Corporate Communications function. This role assists with the preparation of responses to external inquiries from shareholders, reporters and other interested parties, as well as communications and materials provided to the Company’s Board of Directors.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1.      Monitors security analysts’ research and earnings estimates, relative stock price movements and periodic ownership analysis and supports the monitoring of trading data.

2.       Assists in the preparation of SEC filings, publications, presentations and electronic media used in the IR program. Performs the data collection and drafting of those materials in collaboration with the Manager, Investor Relations & Corporate Communications.

3.      Assists in the creation of materials for the Company’s Board of Directors; supports logistics for the Company’s Board of Directors and Committee meetings; maintains Board and Committee meeting minutes and consents.

4.      Collaborates with the Manager, Investor Relations & Corporate Communications on the Company’s website and content, specifically the IR section of the website and archive of historical information.

5.      Collaborates with the Manager, Investor Relations & Corporate Communications in creating and updating IR presentations and other executive management presentations.

6.      Supports Shareholder meeting logistics and materials.

7.      Supports logistics and presentations for IR conferences and roadshows, investor tours and meetings and conference calls, including earnings calls.

8.      Manages and prepares Investor Relations and Legal Department annual budget.

9.      Supports external investor and public relations firms of record, data providers and other external vendors.

10.   Understands in depth the Company’s leaders, culture, strategies and operations.

11.   Performs other related duties as needed.

Experience and Education Requirements:

Requires broad training in fields such as equity and debt financing, accountancy or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor’s Degree Program or equivalent combination of experience and education; normally requires three years of experience in a public company, preferably in finance, planning or development or corporate communication positions.

SUMMARY

Working with general supervision, the Manager of Investor Relations serves as a liaison between the organization and the global investment community. Principle outcomes include effective delivery of pertinent company information in an effort to achieve fair stock valuation. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will work closely with Corporate Communications to ensure that investor and other communications are closely aligned. Associate may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require a supervisor’s advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Articulate the company’s strategy, financial results, growth opportunities and business initiatives to current and potential shareholders and sell-side analysts.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with buy and sell-side analysts, and portfolio managers to sustain the company’s credibility and image with the global investment community.
  • Understand current market perceptions of the company and anticipate reactions by the investment community to various strategic decisions; provide applicable feedback to senior executives.
  • Assist in the creation of quarterly earnings materials, including call scripts, Q&A, and press releases.
